Pierce County invites the community to a town hall meeting on the proposed Chambers Bay resort development, Oct. 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bates Technical College Auditorium, Room 130B, 1101 S. Yakima Ave. in Tacoma.
The town hall meeting is an opportunity to learn about the development proposals, ask questions, and offer comments. Councilmember Rick Talbert and Pierce County staff will be on-hand to answer questions on the proposed development.
Pierce County Councilmembers had their first look at the development proposals at the Sept. 8 study session. The next steps in the process include a selection of a development team. When a selection is made the County will then negotiate a lease development agreement for the project. Due to the long-term nature of the lease development agreement, it is subject to approval by the County Council. A timeframe for consideration and voting has not been finalized, but is hoped to be completed by the end of the year.
