How government over-regulation killed a prominent local company

On Saturday Oct. 8, Ray Tennison, former CEO of Simpson Investment Co. (Timber Co.) will speak at 11 a.m. at the Cloverleaf in Tacoma. Tennison will talk about the impact government over-regulation had on Simpson’s operations. Learn why Simpson sold all of its Washington manufacturing plants except for one and is now just growing timber. He is going to speak at the regular meeting of the 28th District Republican club, and the public is invited.

Also to speak is Debbie Brese, owner of the Cloverleaf. She will speak about the effects government regulations have had on her business, and the impact the $15 minimum wage laws have had on businesses.

To reserve a seat at the meeting, call Pad Finnigan at 209-6504. The cost to attend is $5 for club members and $10 for non-members. Reservations are required. During the meeting, attendees can order lunch from the restaurant’s menu. The Cloverleaf is located at 6430 6th Ave. in Tacoma. The meeting will adjourn at 1 p.m.
